The theme of the relationship between line and surface derives from the relationship between the rib and vault of the church. In order to investigate the questions about how the line influences the surface and how the surface responds to the line, the curvature of surfaces plays an important role in this part. The method of getting surfaces with different curvatures by arranging lines in different directions on wood frames and pressing polymer clay on the jig articulates how the surface responds to the different arrangement of lines.
When the model is changed as an entrance of a metro station, the status of the model is no longer an independent individual, but a part of society. Instead of being isolated as an experimented model, the model begins to respond to the environment, including ground, light, and people’s movement.
